BUCKCHERRY Making New Fans With Comeback Album
October 9, 2006Launch Radio Networks reports: BUCKCHERRY was best known for its 1999 breakthrough hit, "Lit Up", before returning from an extended hiatus this year with its comeback album, "Fifteen", and current single, "Crazy Bitch". But guitarist Keith Nelson told Launch that the band's new material is earning them fans who were not even aware of the group beforehand. "It's been really great to watch our audience grow, and it's been really great to see the fans that we're attracting that don't know 'Lit Up' actually, are discovering that song for the first time, but are coming to our band by way of 'Crazy Bitch'."
"Fifteen" was released in Japan before scoring an independent release here in the States last spring. It has sold 422,000 copies and was recently picked up by Atlantic Records.
The raunchy video for "Crazy Bitch" was pulled from circulation last month when an underage girl sued the band, claiming she was coerced into dancing provocatively and taking her top off in the video. BUCKCHERRY has strongly denied the charges, saying the girl signed a consent form and showed fake ID at the shoot. A new video has since been filmed for the song.
"Next 2 You" is the next single headed to radio from 15.
BUCKCHERRY is hitting the road with CROSSFADE on a new series of fall tour dates, beginning tomorrow (Tuesday, October 10) in Las Vegas.
